The List for Tuesday, October 1st 2024

Welcome to The List,

Pete Rose died yesterday.  He was 83.  There's no word on the cause of death.  Pete is still MLB's all-time hits leader and holds several other records.  But he's still not in the Hall of Fame because of his gambling scandal.

-----

Lainey Wilson was just added as a third host of the CMA Awards.  She will join Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning as co-hosts.  The ceremony takes place November 20th, live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Jelly Roll tells Interview magazine that he realized who he was making music for when he attended an NBA game last year. “My music is for middle America. Hardworking, back-sweating, blue collar people. I realize now that if I go to a basketball game, very few people sitting in the bowl will know me, but every person that works in the arena will. That brought so much clarity to my songwriting."

-----

Some guy paid over $3,000 for a guitar signed by Taylor Swift at a charity auction in Texas, then smashed it with a hammer.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
