Beginning on Tuesday this week is the Open Burning within the City of Marshalltown. This Open Burn will last until November 30th. This Open Burn allows residents to burn plant material grown on their premises or deposited there by the elements. The Open Burn is allowed from 10am – 7pm daily, no burning allowed on holidays.
No burning allowed on public streets, alleys, or another person’s property. No burning allowed when there is wind greater than 15 mph, or if there are extended dry conditions. The burn should take place at lease 50 feet from any structure, if the fire is enclosed in a container, then you only need 15 feet from a building.
