Recently the Iowa Veterans Home was awarded with the Governors Award for Quality Care Facility for Excellence in Healthcare.  The Iowa Veterans Home was 1 of 2 healthcare facilities to win this award.  Penny Cutler-Bermudez is a Division Administrator for the Iowa Veterans Home and has been working there for over 30 years.  Cutler-Bermudez says 4 families nominated the facility.

Doug Moberly is a Social Worker at the Iowa Veterans Home and has been for nearly 3 decades as well.  He shares some of the activities that the residents can participate in

All of the guests from the Iowa Veterans Home said that the residents love their food. They bring in performances, play festive games throughout the year.  It is truly a community at the Iowa Veterans Home.
