The Marshalltown Area United Way has a goal to raise $900,000 by the end of the year. The money they raise will go to support 27 agencies in our community. Kendra Sorenson is the Executive Director, and she was on the KFJB line this week to share an update.
Sorenson contacted KFJB today sharing that they are at 36% not 41%, which is still almost a 5% jump from last week. A big part of that jump was the Power of the Purse event held on October 10th. Last year this event was able to net just under $40,000, and they had a goal for this year of $50,000.
It appears that I will be shaving my head just before winter. In search of a good stylist to make it happen and a place to donate my hair.
