On November 8, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Ames Police officers responded to reports of multiple stabbings on Tripp Street in the 3700 block. Upon arriving, officers discovered a crime scene, with two victims located away from the immediate area and transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center, while a third victim arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle. One of the injured was later transferred to MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, though the current conditions of all three remain unknown. The suspect is still at large, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Ames Police Department or Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa.
