The List for Monday, November 25th 2024

Welcome to The List,

Game show host Chuck Woolery died on Saturday at his home in Texas. . . . TMZ reports that he went to lie down because he wasn’t feeling well.

Chuck was the original host of “Wheel of Fortune” back in the late ’70s . . . he went on to host the “Scrabble” game show in the ’80s . . . and of course “Love Connection” from 1983 to 1994.

He also did some later shows, like “Lingo” on the Game Show Network, and “Greed” on Fox.

There’s no word on a cause of death, Chuck Woolery was 83…

—–

“Billboard” put out their list of the Top 100 Country Singers of All Time . . . and some folks are less than pleased.  Specifically, because Taylor Swift was ranked above Brooks & Dunn, Hank Williams Jr., and Toby Keith.  Also, Jason Aldean didn’t even make the list at all..what’s THAT all about…..

—–

Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes is making around $50 million a year.  But now, his wallet will be 0.03% LIGHTER . . . thanks to FINGER GUNS.

The NFL has fined Patrick $14,069 for the “violent gesture” he made last week, while celebrating a touchdown.  He’d just scored on Buffalo, and Patrick used both hands to mimic firing dual pistols.

Let’s be honest . . . he wouldn’t have been fined for mimicking a bow and arrow . . . throwing knives . . . or dramatically acting out the extremely violent “finishing moves” from “Mortal Kombat”.  (Although that would be amusing.)

—–

Chris Stapleton and Brooks & Dunn are now tied with the most CMA Awards in history.  They have 19 wins each.

Harry 4/15/2025

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK IS HARRY!!  Harry is a bit shy at first, but once he trusts you, he’s all about you. Harry loves attention and will show his affection in the sweetest ways. When he's not running around the ledges in the community room, you’ll catch him sitting in the window, rubbing against the glass like he’s asking for a petting session  (it’s adorable!).

Harry didn’t have a lot of human interaction as a kitten since he was sick and in quarantine, so he’s still warming up to people. But all he really needs is someone who can offer patience and love. He’s sure to become your best buddy once he feels safe and loved.

Harry's adoption fee is just $25.00 because he is the KIX CRITTER OF WEEK!!

Harry is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, FeLV/FIV tested, and microchipped, so he’s ready to start his new life with you!

If you’re looking for a calm, sweet cat  Harry could be the perfect fit. Come meet him in ARL community room today!

Check out the video of him and his buddies!

The List for Monday, April 14th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Ladies, start your... rockets! Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez, and Gayle King are making history today, launched into space on Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin rocket. It took off at  9:30 a.m. Eastern. A seat can cost up to $450,000—or, you know, slightly less than a weekend at Coachella with VIP passes. The first seat with Bezos sold for $28 million... for that price, the rocket better have reclining seats and a drink cart.

-----

Will Smith dropped a new album and, well... it landed with less of a slap and more of a soft tap. “Based On A True Story” sold only 268 copies in the UK—so basically just his extended family and a couple of curious Amazon shoppers. It didn’t even crack the Billboard 200 in the U.S., but he’s not giving up. He’s planning two more albums and a European tour. Say what you want—he slaps back.

-----

Ed Sheeran’s thinking about going country—and not just because he wore flannel once. He says Nashville’s his favorite U.S. city and he's already teamed up with Luke Combs and Chris Stapleton. But Ed insists he won’t just dip his boots in—he wants to do it right. Because, as we all know, once you go country, you never go... back to math rock? Alan Jackson warned us: "She’s gone country, look at them boots!"

-----

Eric Church is turning Red Rocks into Revival Rocks this July with three unique shows! July 12th, 13th, and 14th—three nights, three setlists, and probably three whiskey-soaked singalongs to “Springsteen.” It’s the kind of show that makes you scream, cry, and question why you ever left your cowboy hat in the car.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
