There was a social media post by the Tama County Sheriffs Office after a reported close call. A vehicle hit a snowplow with its wing blade out on Highway 30 near the Marshall County line. The post shared a few driving tips as we are officially in winter driving season.

Keep your distance, it takes longer for vehicles to stop with ice and snow on the roads. Watch for the wing blades on snow plows. Those big trucks are out there to help us, give them distance and time to prepare the roads for safe travel. Finally slow down, the roads can be icy, even if they look clear.
