Wednesday there was a house fire in Marshalltown, as the Fire Department was dispatched out to the 400 block of N 11th Ave. The call came in around 9:45am and upon arrival the department found a small single-story home on fire. The fire department quickly extinguished and searched the building finding no victims in the structure.

While the property is vacant and no utilities are serving the property, it does show signs of inhabitance. Property owners confirmed that the property should be vacant. The cause of the fire is under investigation
