As people gather for the holidays, sometimes our plans change in the moment, especially when Cousin Eddie breaks out the Eggnog. AAA Iowa has a special program for those who may find themselves in an unplanned situation and unable to get home safely.

That is Brian Ortner with AAA Iowa. He says the first plan should always be to have a designated driver. That could be a friend, uber or lyft, or a taxi service. The Tow To Go program should be used as a last resort.

Ortner shares that this service may not be available if there is severe winter weather.
