On Friday, we spoke with Mid-Iowa Council Scout Executive Matt Hill and he gave an early year update on scouting. While scouts are known to do plenty of summer camps, Hill says there are also activities for the winter.

Hill also says the scouts have a weekend coming up at the end of January to learn how to survive in the winter weather.

With how cold and unpredictable winters can get, it’s always good to learn how to be safe and how to potentially save your own or someone else’s life, even at a younger age.
