The Emergency Food Box in Marshalltown has seen an increase in clients per month over the last year. While the number of clients has increased volunteers have been working hard to keep the shelves stocked.
That is a volunteer for the Emergency Food Box, Cindy Staron. She says for the most part people want and need the same type of food no matter the weather.
Staron says there are some foods they cannot get from the Iowa Food Bank at the moment which has lowered their supply.
The Emergency Food Box accepts donations whenever they are open
They are located at 107 N 1st Street and are open Monday – Thursday 1:30 – 4:30pm and Fridays they are open at 10:30am – 1:30pm.
