We heard from the Siouxland Community Action group earlier this week about LIHEAP being delayed. LIHEAP is the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. MICA, Mid Iowa Community Action, located in Marshall County, says they are also seeing delays but people should not panic.

That is Abra Dougherty, the Resource Development and Community Coordinator with MICA. She says people can contact their utilities company if they are worried or concerned.

Dougherty says even with the delay, people can still apply for LIHEAP
