Jamie Pollard, the Director of Athletics released a video last week talking about the next steps for CyTown on the Iowa State campus. CyTown is the big project happening between Hilton Coliseum and Jack Trice Stadium in Ames.
There will be 4 main areas of CyTown, the Sukup Cylo, The Cardinal, CySuits and CyTown business. The Sukup Cylo will be a grandstand and another place to gather and hold concerts on campus.
Pollard talks about CyTown being an economic engine to drive more people to campus beyond the Football and Basketball games. The CyTown business will do just that, and they already have their first anchor tenet, McFarland Clinic.
He says McFarland Clinic will have an Urgent Care, Pediatrics, Family Medicine and more. The Cardinal will be a Marriot Hotel right near Jack Trice Stadium and connected to Hilton Coliseum and Sheman. Something that the University has wanted for a long time.
The agreement was signed earlier this year with Goldenrod to be the developers and we should start to see construction heating up later this year.
