There are some vacant spaces that could be filled with new tenets soon. John Hall, Marshalltown Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, talks about KFC closing last month. KFC put a sign on their door they would close permanently.

He says Marshalltown has limited available space, especially in high traffic area. Hall says getting new mall owners and a few vacancies has drummed up some interest in Marshalltown.

Hall says they are constantly reaching out to national and local businesses that would make sense for the Marshalltown Market. He does not say who will fill KFC or the Arby’s buildings, but they are working to bring in new businesses.
