The National Weather Service works with different counties across Iowa to put on Storm Spotter Trainings every other year. This year the class is offered in Marshall County and it is coming up on March 18th.

That is Marshall County Emergency Management Coordinator Kim Elder. She says the participants will get a spotter number at the end of the course to help report what you see to the National Weather Service.

Elder says this training is free but she wants people to RSVP ahead of time so she has enough seats for everyone. People can reach out to Elder directly at the Emergency Management Office.
