The Marshall County Board of Supervisors met with other courthouse staff yesterday to look at options in the wake of Unity Point Health-Marshalltown announcing it wanted to turn over the dispatching of EMS services over to the combined 911 commission. The hospital indicated it wanted to turn the dispatch responsibilities over in mid-May. Board Chair Bill Patten saying even six months of notice in this instance, would not be enough.
Unity Point Health Marshalltown Board President Lance Horbach was also in attendance. He assured the meeting that the Board will work with all concerned to assure the EMS/ambulance services will continue top do what is best for area residents who need that medical help.
