There were plenty of witnesses….unexpected witnesses  on Saturday for a wedding in Des Moines. That’s what happens when you schedule your vows in the state capitol, but the legislature is still hanging around!

That’s the situation Laura Kingery and Fred Lucas of Ankeny faced Saturday morning. So, with the Legislature in session, the couple had to share the venue with all of those politicos.

Weddings are allowed in the state capitol, but the rules couples agree to make it clear it’s a public building and the space must be shared with others. This couple just didn’t count on sharing it with elected officials on a Saturday.
