Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nate Boulton has issued a public apology to three women who told The Des Moines Register Boulton had touched them inappropriately. Now, some of Boulton’s rivals are telling him to quit the campaign.
Cathy Glasson (GLOSS-un), a nurse and union organizer, says Boulton’s behavior disqualifies him as a candidate for governor.
Andy McGuire, the former chairwoman of the Iowa Democratic Party, says it’s not enough for Boulton “to apologize and move on.” McGuire says Boulton should “lead by example” and end his campaign.
The three other men running for governor all say they do not tolerate sexual harassment. Ross Wilburn ALSO says Boulton should step aside. Wilburn says if Boulton winds up as Iowa Democrats’ nominee for governor, there’d a “cloud” hanging over the party.
