The Marshalltown Area United Way is closing in on its goal of 768-thousand dollars. In its final report to before the end of the year, the United Way has raised 97 percent of its goal, just over 743-thousand dollars.

Fund raising will continue until just prior to allocations being determined for the 28 United Way agencies in early January.
