This is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa, a time to refresh and prepare for the upcoming severe storms that will rumble through the state.

Meteorologist Brooke Hagenhoff, at the National Weather Service, says a different topic is covered daily.

As part of this week’s educational events, Hagenhoff says a statewide tornado drill is set for Wednesday morning.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon during Central Iowa Today, we will visit with Marshall County Emergency Management Coordinator Kim Elder regarding severe weather week…as well as get an update on area flooding.
