In the class 1A quarterfinals, top ranked Collins-Maxwell got a run in the first and that is all the Spartans would need as they opened defense of their title with a 4-0 victory over LeMars Gehlen. Junior pitcher Mikayla Houge tossed a three hitter and struck out 11 as Collins-Maxwell improved to 26-1.

Collins-Maxwell will face Newell-Fonda, a 7-5 winner over Lynnville-Sully in the 1A Semis.
