Grinnell College’s safety team, along with Grinnell Fire and the State Fire Marshall’s Bomb Squad combined to corral and dispose of a potentially hazardous chemical in the Noyce Science Center yesterday afternoon. The chemical, Diethyl Ether could be explosive if dried up, and since the condition of the chemical was unknown, the precautions were taken. The chemical was detonated at a safe area on campus and the Science Building was given the all-clear just after 5:30.
