Mahaska County authorities continue to investigate the discovery of a body early on Sunday morning.

The Sheriff’s Department took a call just after 1:30 a.m. about the body of an elderly woman along Highway 163 near the 2500 block. No details, including the name of the deceased, have yet been released.
