MARSHALLTOWN – Over the past two years, UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown has been on a journey to redesign the health care services that are needed and supported in Marshalltown. We’ve made a commitment to remain in the community and have adapted our services around what the community actually uses and needs.

We are excited to announce plans to consolidate all our services at the hospital downtown (North Campus) to the Medical Park (South Campus), which will be expanded.

First, we must begin planning and construction on a $38.4 million expansion project set to begin in Spring 2020. We estimate construction to be completed in Spring 2022, and then the North Campus will officially close.

The expansion project is expected to add 65,000 square feet to the South Campus, bringing its total to 137,000 square feet. As we stated in August, we do not anticipate closing any services for the foreseeable future. With regard to the construction, we plan to use a competitive bidding process, it’s our desire to use local contractors and construction workers.

This is a significant enhancement and investment for the Marshalltown community. UnityPoint Health is committed to the health and well-being of this community, and we’re proud to offer quality, local healthcare. Now more than ever, we need the support of our community to keep healthcare local in Marshalltown from laboratory testing, to physical therapy to urgent care.
