One person was shot by a Marshalltown Police Officer this morning after the two ended up in what Police Chief Mike Tupper says was a physical altercation. Police were called to the 600 block area of Summit Street after four this morning after a report of someone causing a problem. One thing led to another and an officer and the suspect got into it and an officer fired what is believed to be a single shot. The victim was taken to a Des Moines hospital, initially reported with non-life threatening injuries. Neither the officer or anyone else was hurt. Chief Tupper says the DCI has been called in, per procedure, to investigate the incident.
