Ten cases of COVID_19 among Iowa State Athletes are part of the reason that 24 new cases of the virus have been reported since midday yesterday in Story County. Two of the athletes who tested positive are football players and the only ones out of 147 team players who have been tested, per a university statement. The Story County virus count is at 216.

Overall, 289 new cases for 23,455 statewide. The only other new cases in our area were one new case in both Tama and Jasper Counties.

Eight new deaths bring the statewide total to 650. None of the recent deaths are from our immediate area.
