Cases of COVID-19 leapt from over 25,00o on Friday to over 26,000 as of this morning. 856 new cases reported since midday Friday, for 26,020. 97 of the new cases came from Story County where the total is now 471. 12 new cases in Marshall county for 974, five in Jasper, two in Tama and one in Poweshiek County.

Six more deaths have been recorded since Friday midday for a total to date of 686.

16,096 have recovered statewide.
