The City of Marshalltown will be moving forward on an overall total of nearly 14 million dollars in general obligation bonds after projects were approved at the City Council meeting.
The one item that seemed to draw the most comment was $615,000 to develop and institute a Railroad Quiet Zone in the community. This subject has been bandied around with many for and many against.
Other projects that would move ahead with the borrowing of the funds include storm sewer replacement, work on the softball complex parking lot, tennis courts at MHS and improvements to the existing bike trail in Marshalltown.
