The pandemic has taken down an historic business in Colo.
The Niland Café and neighboring Colo Motel will close down for good after Saturday, August 8th.
The Ames Tribune reports that Arlo and Charity Starbuck, who took over the café in March of last year, said the pandemic resulted in a loss of 70% of their customers.
The couple says both the café and motel were in need of repairs, but the Colo Development Group, owners of the historic landmark, is not planning to make the repairs any time soon.
