After being denied two years ago, Marshall and nine other counties DID receive approval of individual federal assistance yesterday from FEMA

Along with Marshall County, other countues apporved for the aid include  Boone, Jasper, Polk, Poweshiek, Story, and Tama Counties. Renters, homeowners and businesses in those  counties can apply for federal help in covering housing expenses, personal property losses and medical bills. In a statement, Governor Kim Reynolds said destruction in 16 OTHER counties was not significant enough to meet FEMA’s thresholds.
