After yesterday’s tour of the derecho damage in Iowa, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Purdue designated 18 Iowa counties as primary disaster areas, making producers eligible for emergency loans.

Among the 18 counties are Marshall, Tama, Story, Hardin, Jasper and Poweshiek.

The deadline to apply for these emergency loans is May 3, 2021.
