The former director of a daycare in Tama County will spend eight months in federal prison after admitting to stealing from the organization.

49-year-old Kristine Daniel took 113-thousand-829 dollars while employed as the executive director of the daycare from December 2009 through April 2016. Some of the money was federal funds.  Daniel used daycare credit cards to buy items for her own personal use, including video games, clothing, and home furnishings.  Daniel issued herself more than 34-thousand dollars in gross pay to which she was not entitled, and stole cash payments that parents gave to the daycare to pay for childcare.
