Roughly 100 employees have been let go at the Meskwaki Casino and Hotel in Tama.

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reported that casino officials say the layoffs are COVID-related and they held off with the layoffs for as long as possible.

Those laid off were mainly from the Casinos staff and the employees had been furloughed throughout the year.
