The surge continues…seemingly unabated when it comes to COVID cases right now. Nearly 3,000 new cases reported since midday yesterday on the state’s website. The positivity testing rate to date is 13.9%. Over the past 14 days that rate is 20.8 percent in Grundy County where there were 10 new cases, 20 percent in Jasper County, 18.8 in Tama County with 7 new cases and 16.4 percent with 34 new cases in Marshall County. The state’s total number of cases to date now over 139-thousand.
20 more deaths lift that total to 1,801.
Another record of hospitalizations as 839 Iowans spent the night being treated.
