It’s pretty obvious that there were at least a few homes around Marshalltown that needed some improvements after the derecho swept through town in August. City Administrator Jessica Kinser reminds you if you have made improvements to your home, you may qualify for a tax abatement…and that goes for the entire city.
Kinser says the deadline to apply is February 1st, there is a $50 fee. If you have questions about qualifying for the abatement, contact the City Clerk or County Assessor’s offices.
