The City of Marshalltown is one step closer to a potential Special Election for the First Ward City Council seat.

At Large councilor Gary Thompson says he submitted the necessary petition with signatures to City offices yesterday.  The City Clerk will now review the signatures to assure that all re from the first ward and are registered voters.

Last week, the Council appointed Raymond Starks to fill the seat left open when Sue Cahill moved on to the Statehouse.
