The List for Monday February 1st, 2021

Welcome to The List –

It’s time to go “on the road again” for Miranda Lambert, but don’t get too excited. She and husband Brendan are traveling in her Airstream trailer dubbed “The Sherriff’” The couple, along with their dogs, documented their first stop in Asheville, N.C. taking to Instagram with pics of their first stop.  The historic Biltmore Estate, a 250-room chateau built in the 1800s which holds the distinction of being America’s largest privately owned home…where to next? We’ll just have to see…

Luke Combs is talking about his song ‘Better Together’, and what it means to him and his wife Nicole. “Beautiful Crazy” was already done and out at that time, so I kinda felt like I needed to do another song that was kind of, I guess it’s kind of ended up turning into like a trilogy, “Beautiful Crazy,” and then it’s “Better Together,” and then “Forever After All” and that’s kind of our whole story up to this point in a way.”

Is Disney considering rehiring Johnny Depp to play Captain Jack Sparrow in the next Pirates of the Caribbean film. A source tells the news outlets, “Rumors are rife that the Change.org petitions have forced the makers to reconsider.” Over 600,000 fans have signed a petition calling for Johnny to return…of course they missed you…You’re Captain Jack Sparrow…

The Irish Mirror says crew members on ”Mission Impossible 7” have branded Tom Cruise a ‘nightmare’. One crew member tells the paper, “It feels like everything is against us at the moment and morale is really down. A lot of us would love to cut our losses and leave things for a while, then pick up when we can. But Tom is completely obsessed with finishing and nothing will stop him. He’s the most determined person. It’s impressive, but a nightmare.”

The List for Monday, November 25th 2024

Welcome to The List,

Game show host Chuck Woolery died on Saturday at his home in Texas. . . . TMZ reports that he went to lie down because he wasn't feeling well.

Chuck was the original host of "Wheel of Fortune" back in the late '70s . . . he went on to host the "Scrabble" game show in the '80s . . . and of course "Love Connection" from 1983 to 1994.

He also did some later shows, like "Lingo" on the Game Show Network, and "Greed" on Fox.

There's no word on a cause of death, Chuck Woolery was 83…

-----

"Billboard" put out their list of the Top 100 Country Singers of All Time . . . and some folks are less than pleased.  Specifically, because Taylor Swift was ranked above Brooks & Dunn, Hank Williams Jr., and Toby Keith.  Also, Jason Aldean didn't even make the list at all..what’s THAT all about…..

-----

Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes is making around $50 million a year.  But now, his wallet will be 0.03% LIGHTER . . . thanks to FINGER GUNS.

The NFL has fined Patrick $14,069 for the "violent gesture" he made last week, while celebrating a touchdown.  He'd just scored on Buffalo, and Patrick used both hands to mimic firing dual pistols.

Let's be honest . . . he wouldn't have been fined for mimicking a bow and arrow . . . throwing knives . . . or dramatically acting out the extremely violent "finishing moves" from "Mortal Kombat".  (Although that would be amusing.)

-----

Chris Stapleton and Brooks & Dunn are now tied with the most CMA Awards in history.  They have 19 wins each.

You can catch The List, weekdays at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
