Marshalltown firefighters were kept busy…and out in the cold…with two small house fires yesterday.

One was in the 300-block of Plaza Heights Drive. There firefighters found a fire which started on a stovetop which had spread to some cabinets. That fire was quickly put out.

The other call was in the 700 block of Union Street. A small fire in the basement was found and there and quickly put out.

In both incidents, no one was injured, either at the homes or firefighters.
