The Marshalltown girls golf team used the home course setting at Elmwood Country Club to capture the 4A Region 2 meet yesterday, qualifying for the state tourney along the way. The Bobcats edged Waukee by one shot to take the title. Amber Henson took medalist honors with an 8-over par 78 to best the rest of the field by 6 shots. Marshalltown’s Kyra Feldman also qualified for state, along with Ames’ Megan Risselman.

In 2A, West Marshall’s Ella Meyer qualified for state at the regional in Eagle Grove.
