Last Friday evening’s debut of the Live After Five outdoor concert season in the parking lot of the Orpheum Theater was a great kickoff to the Friday night’s worth of music through August 13th. The Orpheum sustained some major damage as a result of the tornado three years ago this month. Once the building was ready for us, it was leased out to the Judicial System as a home while the Courthouse was being renovated. Bob Moore, president of FOOT, Friends Of The Orpheum Theater, says that effectively put Orpheum-related events “out of business”.
What about in 2022? Moore says that is still “up in the air”. In the meantime, the Live on Five series continues with the Awful Purdies Friday evening at the Orpheum parking lot.
