Marshalltown Police will soon have a new officer on the street. You’ll recognize him immediately; long hair, four legs and a tail. Atlas is teaming up with officer Ric Svoboda as the newest K-9 partners on the force. Police Chief Mike Tupper notes this is not a 9 to 5 commitment for either Officer or K-9.

Tupper says the previous two K-9 officers retired and it’s been about six months since the PD has had a K-9 on patrol. He hopes to add a second K-9 unit in another year or so.
