Ames firefighters fought a house fire mid-afternoon Saturday in the 1400 block of Meadowlane Avenue.

The blaze was extending out of the back to the single family house. Estimated damages were set at $70,000. There were no injuries as a result of the fire, which was called in by a passer-by.
