Ames Police say it was a Des Moines man who was shot and killed just before midnight Friday at the Elks Lodge on Douglas Avenue. 23-year old Stashaun D.L. Brown died after being transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center.

Based on the initial investigation, it appears multiple shots were fired by several groups of people who were attending a private event at the Elk’s Lodge. Those who were at the event and have information about the shooting are encouraged to contact Ames Police investigators. No arrests have been made, however, tips continue to come in to investigators.
