The Iowa Attorney General’s Office says the shooting of Jared Risius in Iowa Falls earlier this month was justified.

Iowa State Trooper Jeremy Schaffer fired the shot that killed Risius when the suspect tried to flee after stalking a former girlfriend. Officers said they felt Risius posted a risk in the neighborhood where the situation took place, as well as at a nearby school.

The Attorney General’s office considers the case closed.
