The local YMCA offered two cultural walking tours of immigrant businesses in downtown Marshalltown on Thursday. According to CEO, Carol Hibbs, a shuttle bus picked up participants at the parking lot of the Community Y and took them downtown where they got a chance to see some of the businesses and do some shopping if they desired. Carol said the participation was good, the businesses were welcoming and provided samples of their products. Some of the tourists stuck around for after-hours entertainment outside the Orpheum Theater Center as food and drink were offered there along with live blues music.
