At this week’s meeting, the Poweshiek County Supervisors discussed current funding requirements for Peoplerides, which provides services to people residing in Hardin, Marshall, Poweshiek, and Tama counties.
The board reviewed a survey that was recently requested by Region 6 regarding Peoplerides funding.
Peoplerides is looking to have a shortfall in their operation budget, which will result in a deficit.
It was noted Peoplerides is reaching out to the counties and cities it serves to see i they would be willing to contribute $2.61 per individual in 2020 data.
The board stated they would be willing to support Peoplerides, but not at the requested amount due to having their budget for Fiscal Year 2023 already published.
