On Friday, Feb. 11th, the Ames Police Department in collaboration with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division conducted alcohol compliance checks of local licensed liquor establishments with the Ames metropolitan area.

Five businesses were checked with four of those establishments providing alcohol to an underage person.

The employees of those businesses were cited for selling alcohol to a person under the legal drinking age.

The Ames Police Department will continue to work with the Alcoholic Beverages Division to complete additional checks of businesses in the near future.
