The Story County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against a male juvenile subject following an investigation into three separate fires that occurred in the town of Maxwell in February and early March.
The sheriff’s office had been investigating two suspicious fires which occurred at Casey’s Convenience Store in Maxwell on February 3rd and 6th. Another suspicious fire was reported early Wednesday morning involving a school bus at Collins-Maxwell High School.
A follow-up investigation by authorities has led to the arrest of a 17-year-old male juvenile subject.
The teen is charged with First-Degree Arson, two counts of Second-Degree Arson, and two counts of First-Degree Criminal Mischief.
The school bus was described as a total loss, as was the Casey’s building. Company officials say the store will not rebuild.
