At a recent meeting, the Poweshiek County Supervisors approved a grant application for funding assistance for the Rolling Hills Coalition Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program in an effort to better reduce the current housing crisis that exists within the regional area.

More specifically, the grant would be utilized to help reduce the number of homeless individuals  that currently reside within the immediate area.

A utility permit was approved by the board on behalf of Brooklyn Mutual Telecommunication Coop for the installation of  underground fiber optic cable in Bear Creek, Lincoln, Scott and Warren Townships.

A utility permit was also approved on behalf of tip rural electric cooperative for work in sections 22-24 of Madison Township.

The board also approved the appointment of Lauren-Hosch Lorenzen as a new clerk in the county recorder’s office, effective March 22nd at $16.40 per hour.
