The Grinnell Fire Department responded to a rural grass fire Sunday afternoon just north of the Grinnell city limits.

Shortly after 1 p.m., local fire crews were notified of a fire in progress near the intersection of Poweshiek County Road 360th Avenue and State Highway 146.

At this time, there’s no word on hos the fire started.

It took firefighters approximately 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.
